Using your iPhone 5 to Produce Movies with iMovie

Wow so much has happened since my last post I don't know where to start. I guess I inform you about my new excitement over filming & editing movies with my iPhone 5. Technology is moving so fast and it's becoming more and more convenient and affordable to do things that would cost thousands of dollars in the past. I'm always looking for ways to concerve time and money while being effective with communicating through media.

The iMovie app has been available for iPhones since iPhone 4 but it wasn't till I got the iPhone 5 that I actually started taking advantage of it. I used to use iMovie on my laptop to edit videos and then I went on to using Final Cut. I've been able to produce some powerful videos with these tools and they are great tools. Things are happening so fast in my life now that I barely have time to sit down at my laptop and use Final Cut. I find that my production time goes so much fast when filming with my iPhone 5 and spending few minutes on the iMovie app to edit it. The app is only $4.99 and it's so worth every penny of it. Rather than filming a video with my big Canon T2i and spending hours importing the video and editing it, I can now do things with a zip and saving me time and energy to do other things with my time. I don't have to carry around a bulky camera any more and have the hassel of it weighing me down in my travels. I love being light on my feet. After editing the movie on my iPhone 5 with iMovie I can then upload it directly from my iPhone to YouTube and immediately share it with my friends and the rest of the world.

With iMovie I can add my own background music, add pictures and even add voice over. Just the other day I filmed some video footage in Manhattan during this Christmas season at Rockefeller Center. At first I uploaded it with some popular Christmas music but it got flagged by YouTube so rather than waiting for a strike to go against my accuont I just deleted it and only a few of my friends had the pleasure of seeing that edit. I found a hot beat to add to it instead which wouldn't be flagged and cause any copyright issues thereby giving me the freedom to express myself creatively. I then had the great idea of recording myself doing a freestyle rap over the beat straight into the iMovie app. I just rapped into the basic mic that comes built within the headphones that came with my iPhone 5. I did this while riding the bus and although the mic isn't the greatest my delivery was so raw I just decided to keep the recording. I did a little mixing of adjusting my vocal level with the beat then I just uploaded it directly to YouTube. The camera on my iPhone 5 records in HD yet when uploading the video I just upload it using the reccomended setting which is 540p two levels below HD 1080p. The reason I upload with iMovie's reccomended setting from my iPhone 5 is because most people will probably be viewing my movie with their smart phone and the video will play more smoothly for them at 540p rather than the 1080p HD setting. Computers with a good internet connection can view the movie best at the HD, I don't like to just cater to people who have laptops I want everyone to see my movies so nobody is left out who has access to viewing YouTube movies.

Well I hope this post has inspired many of you go use your iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5c or 5s to create fantastic videos to share with the world. I think it's a wonderful thing to have the ability to express ourselves with a less barriers or obstacles as possible. For those who don't have high end video cameras or laptop computers this is an effective way to make your voice heard and share your creativity and content with the world. I heard it once said that anytime you can find something that brings you pleasure to do and get paid for it then your no longer working your truly living. Well I paraphrased it but you get the message.

Oh yeah I left this part out. Guess what? YouTube will pay you for your content that you upload through it's advertising dollars. I'm fortunate enough to be a youtube partner due to the enormous amount of views I've achieved. I'm close to 300,000 total views as we speak and one of my videos alone has reached over 40,000 views with no promotion. These all equals to dollars for those who apply to be a youtube partner which is what I officially am. As a youtube parnter you can choose to monetize your videos which now gives you the ability to earn income on a residual basis when people view your videos. For this to be achieved it is very important to have legal rights to all of your content video, music, vocals. So do your best not to upload anyone elses copyright materal without their permission and you should be fine.

The ability to monetize videos is something I sought of stumbled upon after one of my videos went viral without me even knowing it. The video was from my "Pit Bull Diary" series where I filmed my dogs Tyson & Diamonds play fighting as puppies. I called the video "the Golden Glove Match" because they were playing tug of war with a golden glove. Hey I guess I struck gold with this one. My whole plan was to promote my rap music by putting it as background music behind the video and using the exciting footage of my dogs as a way to draw attention to my content.

So many people in the world are just like me and they love watching puppies play and enjoy themselves. It's such a beautiful things to watch dogs navigate their way through life as they grow from puppies to adults. Not only do people love animal videos but they love Hip-Hop Music also which is what I produce through my Beats N Blessings ( BNB Records, LLC). So as you can see if you find a creative way to make content that represents who you are and you can package it in such a way that gets people's attention then you can get paid for enjoying your life. Isn't that awesome? Yes it is. I plan to offer classes real soon in my community for those who want to learn more about how they can benefit from Mobile Media Production. We live in a new age and technology is now with in your fingertips it's just all about how you plan and strategize to make yourself and those you work with a success.

Pigeon takes a ride on my Escalade

I was driving off the Queens Boro Bridge today and a pigeon decided it was too tired to fly and that it wanted to ride in style. I never seen nothing like it in my life. What amazed me even more was that when this pigeon landed on my windshield wiper it didn’t fly away right away it stayed for a ride for many city blocks.

You would think that after driving at about 30 miles per hour it would fly away but it hung on tight and just held on for the ride. I must say the Escalade feels like a great ride but I didn’t know birds felt the same way. I guess in life God has a way of shocking us with strange things that make us take a step back and wonder why is this happening.

At one point I thought that maybe the bird was blind and didn’t know it was riding on a Escalade. I’m not the type to show off what God has blessed me with and I guess if it wasn’t for this pigeon blowing up my spot I probably would have never shown a video and pics of my escalade but sometimes in life we need to let the world see what God has done for us and not be ashamed of the blessings he pours on us. This pigeon was bringing so much attention to my vehicle people were rolling up with their phones taking pictures and having friendly conversations with us.

After many blocks I guess the bird wanted to jump inside the car cause my sunroof was open. Just before it could fly into my car I shut the sunroof and then it just chilled on top of my car for another block. I just kept snapping pics and videos with my iPhone 5 so I can share this moment with you and keep is a cool memory alive for many years.

Time for Metamophosis

Just like the creature in this video we all have the capability of going through a metamorphosis. Can you imagine being a catapillar crawling around moving slowly throughout life and then one day you go through this amazing transformation where you become an awesome buterfly that's able to fly through the sky. In life we start out like catapillars but sometimes we don't always make it to being a butterfly because we get stuck in the life of a catapillar just crawling around in life. But we are not meant to stay limited to just crawling around we are designed to soar on wings like eagles. But before we can be a butterfly we have to be in a cocoon for a while.

A cocoon is a place where we feel alone and it's where God takes us through a transformation process. It doesn't always feel good to be in a cocoon because it feels like we are not really going anywhere but then all of a sudden it's like BOOOM we break free from the cocoon and we soar into the sky of greatness of who we are meant to be. No more time for crawling around let's fly high. I see you in the sky. Shalom!

Walk this way

I tell the story of why said "Walk this way"

God said walk this way…

One day I was on Jamaica Ave and God told me he wanted me to walk down the back streets in a direction I don’t usually go. At first I was like Lord is this you this feels a bit weird. The first day he told me to walk down this block I walked half way but then I walked back because I wasn’t sure if I was doing the right thing. Then I was on Jamaica Avenue a second time and He said it again walk down this block. I was like OK Lord I don’t fully understand why you want me to walk down this block but I will find out why. So when I walk down the block he had me walk by this church.

I saw the doors open and I kept walking because I wasn’t sure if I should walk in the church. God said walk back to the door and walk inside. At first I still was hesitant because I wasn’t too sure. Yet I obeyed God and I walked into the doors of the church. To my amazement there was a youth camp going on inside where the kids where playing on buckets. There was a drum class being conducted and the kids didn’t have drums. I asked to speak with the pastor and told them who I was and what I do and that I wanted to meet the pastor and tell him about my music ministry. They told me the pastor had just left to go buy snare drums for the kids who were in the drum class playing on buckets. I said to myself wow that’s an awesome pastor. He stopped what he was doing in the office that day to go get drums for the kids. I was like wow this is the type of place I would love to share my ministry gift at. So I left the camp director with my CD and business card and asked her to forward it to the Pastor so they both can consider having me come minister at the church. A couple of days later I got a call from the camp director saying she liked my CD and wanted me to come share my music with the youth there. When I got to the church to set up the youth were very inquisitive about me and my music ministry. As I was setting up I was doing my best to answer all their questions.

I performed my new song “My God” for them and they were so blessed by it that they asked me to perform it again. For some reason every time I perform this particular song I’m always asked to rap it again. I had so much fun there ministering to the youth who were dancing and enjoying themselves.

They even had me break out into a backspin breakdance move something that had me dizzy when I stood up LOL. At most of my events I give out some of my CD's and T-Shirts as prizes and the kids really were looking forward to winning. Some of the kids started crying when they didn't get a FREE CD or BNB T-Shirt I felt so bad for them. I told them they were all winners in GOD's eyes and to keep their heads up. I wish I could have given them all a Free T-Shirt and CD but I didn't have enough to do that. One day I know I will.
I know GOD is turning things around in my life and he’s taking me for one great ride. OK Lord which way do you want me to walk next? I’m at your service.

Find out what happen to me in court

I didn’t know how I was going to win in court for these tickets I had got for having tinted windows. I was worried about what would happen to my driver’s license from these two tickets I got for tinted windows. Sometimes we worry about what we think will happen to us. Many times we need to trust GOD that everything will be OK we don’t have to worry.

I really didn’t see a way out of the tickets especially since the cop who gave them to me said I had to go to a police precient or inspection station to have them confirm that I removed the tint. I drove to like 10 different places and every where I went they claimed they couldn’t help me so I felt I was going to have trouble in court since I didn’t have someone sign that I removed the tint. On the last day someone gave me the idea of taken pictures of the car and showing them to the judge and that should help me. I wasn’t sure it would work but that’s what I did and when I went to court the Judge looked at the pictures and dropped the charges for the tickets. I was so amazed how quickly he excused me and dropped the charges. Thank God I didn’t get any points on my license and I didn’t have to pay anything on the tickets. God is goooood.

Get Back Up and Try Again

As I was watching this skateboard video I noticed that in the beginning of it he kept missing all his tricks and I'm sure he was very frustrated and maybe felt like giving up. I'm sure he felt embarrassed plenty of times as people watched him fail over and over again at trying to perform 1 trick. I bet he even has some wounds to show for all the times he fell on concrete after trying to perform a trick over and over again. But one thing I must say is that I admire and respect so many skateboarders around the world that they don't give up on trying to perform a trick. No matter how many times they fall. It could be one hundred times and they will get up time and time again until they finally get it right and it may not take the first day, 2nd day, 3rd or even the 30th day but eventually they get it right and I'm sure it's such a great feeling for them.

I've witnessed this first hand while watching the skateboarders at the skate park in Far Rockaway, NY. I say to myself wow imagine if we all take this same attitude when facing the challenges we battle with in our lives. Get right back up and try again. Don't quit it till you hit it attitude. Don't stop till you reach the top attitude. I don't know about you but I've failed plenty of times in my lifetime and sometimes it's been in the same area for the same thing over and over. But guess what? I don't give up. I get right back up like a skateboarder who has many scars and wounds from previous falls. Been laughed at rediculed called names. You name it. I've experienced some of the most terrible mockery and insults for what people feel they know about me but really don't. See what people don't understand is that I'm a work in progress. The Potter is molding me and I'm the clay.

They have not seen the finished product. They have not seen me perform my final trick or stunt or miracle. But keep watching it's coming. They can turn the channel if they want because maybe they feel it's taking too long for me to get it right.
But I thank GOD he never turns the channel on us. He never walks away from us saying oh well this person will never get it right. God never gives up on us like we do. Sometimes people give up on us and sometimes we give up on ourselves. But GOD's love endures forever. His mercies are new every morning. So get back up and try again. You can do it. Your life isn't over. God will heal those wounds. Some of the wounds we cause ourselves some have been inflicted upon us by others. But you know what no weapon formed against us shall prosper. We are more than conquerors. He has made us to be winners.
Get back up!
Try Again.
Your Worth it!
Your a Winner!
